How to have a banana beauty bonanza

With the first glimmer of sunlight, we can finally begin to think of summer, and as cheering as that is, it also means it’s time to start the bikini beauty regime (with bananas!) To make life a little easier, here’s your ultimate guide to having a banana themed pamper night, complete with treatments and yummy cocktails. Firstly, mix up your cocktails. Stir the following ingredients together and garnish with some fresh banana.

Bananas Foster Cocktail
1 shot vanilla vodka, 1 shot banana liqueur, ½ shot butterscotch schnapps, ½ shot chocolate liqueur, Splash light cream.

Ok. Now you’ve sorted out the most important thing, let’s get down to some serious banana beauty business. If it’s your skin that needs a boost (after all it’s been a windy winter), then check out the following DIY facemask.

Banana Face Pack (dry skin)
½ c yogurt, 1 T honey, ¼ banana
Mash ingredients well. Apply to face and neck. After 10 minutes, rinse with tepid water.

However, if it’s lacklustre hair that’s letting you down, you may want to try the following instead (or as well!)

Banana Hair Pack
Ripe bananas (more for longer hair, fewer for shorter hair),1-2 T honey, 2-5 drops almond oil, 1 egg yolk
Add bananas one at a time until you have enough to coat your hair. Mix the bananas, honey, oil, and egg yolk in a blender to make a smooth paste. Moisten your hair with warm water and apply the paste to your hair. Cover with a shower cap to ensure the pack penetrates deep into the roots. After 30 minutes, shampoo as usual.

Finally, use the following remedy to rescue rough skin, the combination of soft banana and rough sugar should make the perfect exfoliator.

Banana Sugar Scrub
1 banana, ¼ c brown sugar
Mash banana well and combine with enough sugar to make a thick, grainy paste. Massage gently on skin. Wait until the paste dries, about 5 minutes, and rinse with warm water.

You should now be beach ready and banana soft. Enjoy!
